Friday 4th March
A bit of a 'veg' day.  It was again lovely and sunny with a gentle breeze with temperatures in the low 80s in the afternoon.  Ben decided he would try his luck with some fishing which involved borrowing some pretty ropy gear from the hotel (advertised available to guests), going to the local tax office to get a fishing licence for the week and buying some bait (frozen shrimps).  The actual fishing took place at the south of Marco Island near the bait shop.  It was a very pretty spot with good views and plenty of expensive boats coming and going - we even saw a dolphin swimming about scaring off the fish!  Despite some sceptisism from Liz, Ben caught 3 fish and nearly landed a much bigger fish which 'got away' (true)!  There was not much for Liz to do so she parked herself on the bench by where Ben was fishing with a suduko puzzle book and when she got too hot retired to the car and air conditioning.

We ate out in the evening at a local restaurant which was excellent - choices followed the theme of the day - fishy - with Liz having breaded scallops and Ben having a trio - lobster tail, grouper, and shrimp stuffed with crab - yum yum.
